Brands we Repair:
We repair Refrigerators:
Refrigerators have many moving parts. Not only do refrigerators contain electrical and mechanical parts but they also contain a refrigeration system, and sometimes two refrigeration systems. Properly diagnosing a refrigerator can be tricky to even an experienced technician. That’s why we continuously train and stay informed of the latest technologies. If you are having a problem with your refrigerator here are some things you can check yourself before calling us out:
If the refrigerator has no power at all check the outlet by plugging something else into it. This is rarely your problem however.
Are the condenser coils clean? These are the coils on the back or under the refrigerator. They often build up with dust or animal hair and need to be cleaned for heat to escape.
There are air vents in several parts of your refrigerator. Make sure they are not blocking the air flow. Air needs to circulate throughout the refrigerator to keep all of your food at the correct temperatures.
You also want to make sure the doors are closing properly. A shelf that is not all the way in or food packages sticking out too far can keep the doors from closing. This lets heat in. We don’t want that.
If you need professional service fast, just give us a call. Your food will appreciate it.
Some common problems with a refrigerator include bad evaporator or condenser fan motors. We see bad control boards not allowing the system to go into defrost or not regulating the temperatures properly. We see a lot of failed defrost heaters or defrost thermostats. If the compressor is clicking or not starting it could be a bad start relay or overload device.
We repair Freezers:
A freezer is much like a refrigerator. Check the same things as you would on a refrigerator but many freezers have the condenser coils built into the sides and the top. This means for heat to escape the top of the freezer and the sides need to breathe. Give your freezer a few inches of breathing room all the way around. Remember that heat rises, so it has to go somewhere or the temperatures will start to rise and you food will start thawing. Another difference between a freezer and a refrigerator is that once you notice the food is thawing it’s likely the freezer stopped cooling properly several days ago. Go ahead and get someone out quickly to repair before it’s too late.
Common problems with freezers include thermostats, defrost heaters or defrost thermostats. Like a refrigerator you could have a bad start relay or overload device.
We repair Washing Machines:
Washing machines have changed a lot over the years. We see many different problems and do many different repairs on them. Most washing machine problems are not an easy fix for the home owner to do themselves but here are a few things you can check:
If the washer is leaking you may just need to replace the rubber washers on the insides of your water lines. Turn your water off and disconnect the hoses. At the ends of each hose will be a round rubber washer that will need to be replaced. You can get these washers from any hardware store or at our store if you’re in the area. These washers are a much cheaper repair than replacing the hoses themselves.
If you have a front load washer and it’s not draining you may need to clean out the filter. Many front load washers, not all, have a filter clean out right in the front down towards the bottom. There will be an access door that you open. Before you unscrew the clean out you’ll want to drain the water from the machine. Even if the tub looks empty there is still likely water in the bottom. Use the small black hose in the access area to further drain the water from the machine. Then unscrew filter and be sure all is clean in there. I have repaired many washing machines by simply unscrewing and cleaning out the filter.
Make sure your clothes are balanced if your washer is banging around.
Some common repair jobs with washing machines include replacing lid switches, motor couplers, capacitors, suspension rods, control boards or timers, pressure switches, water valves and pumps.
We repair Dryers:
The #1 thing I can say about dryers is CLEAN THOSE LINT FILTERS! Air flow is very important to the proper operation of your dryer. Dirty lint filters will reduce the air flow and increase the time it takes to dry your clothes. Eventually this lint will stop up the vent that the dryer attaches to and will require cleaning. Again, it’s very important to keep this lint filter clean. Clean it after every load.
Make sure your vent line is not crimped behind the dryer. This will also reduce air flow.
Electric dryers need 240 volts to work properly. If your dryer is turning but not heating it could be an electrical problem. Check to be sure your breaker is not partially tripped. Turn it all the way off and back on.
Common dryer repairs include bad heating elements, thermostats, timers, door switches, motors, blower wheels, control boards, squeaky pulleys and rollers and of course broken belts.
We repair Ranges, Ovens, Stoves:
Electric ranges also need 240 volts to work properly. If your range is not heating properly turn your breaker off and back on in case it is partially tripped.
Never clean your range with the power on. Always turn off your breaker and unplug the range before doing any cleaning. Some parts of your range may have power going to it even when the switches are turned off.
Some common range repairs we do include replacing bake elements, broil elements, burners, switches, control boards, thermostats, and temperature sensors.
We repair Dishwashers:
Many dishwashers drain through the garbage disposal so be sure you run the disposal before calling for service about your dishwasher not draining.
If you’re not getting water to the dishwasher be sure it has not gotten turned off for some reason. Many times the water supply to the dishwasher is under the sink. Be sure the valve is on. You’d be surprised at the number of times we have been on this repair to find the water was turned off.
Many common issues of dishwasher failures include bad drain pumps or clogged drain lines. We replace thermal fuses, control boards or timers, float switches, door locks and circulation pumps. Heating elements are another common problem. And of course hoses leaking is another issue we often occur.
Other appliances we repair are garbage disposals, trash compactors, and water heaters.
Garbage disposals are often repaired by simply clearing the debris that is preventing the motor from turning. This sometimes also trips the reset button. Other that these two issues the garbage disposal may have a locked motor and needs to be replaced. We can do this for you.
Trash compactors also sometimes get jammed with trash that shouldn’t be there. Many times simply removing, or cleaning out, the obstruction will resolve your problem. Other times you may have switches that have one bad. These are generally fairly easy repairs but can sometimes be a little tricky to figure out. It’s not often but we have also replaced motors that have gone bad.
Water Heater repairs are pretty simple as well. It’s almost always a heating element or a thermostat that has failed. Leaking water heaters from the tank will have to be replaced. We can handle all of your water heater problems.
All in home repairs have a one year warranty parts and labor. We honor this warranty 100% as long as we supply the part and do the repair. No questions asked. However, we only warranty the part and the labor to install the part from the original problem. If later you have a different problem than we repaired originally this is not covered under our warranty. For example if we replaced a heating element in your dryer and within that one year period your timer goes bad, this is not covered, understandably.
We hope to gain your business and your trust. We are not satisfied until our customers are satisfied. We are locally owned and operated, licensed and insured.
